Dear Doraya!

Hi, how are you? How was your week? I didn’t see you a lot of time, and I miss you so much. You don’t know how many things have happened since the last time we talked. I am writing you from Paris, and I want to tell you about an exciting thing that happened to me- I fell in love! - good opening !

During my first night in my vacation in Paris, I met a wonderful guy. We met in an unusual way. When I came back to the hotel from the café, I moved towards the elevator and a cute guy came in with me. I noticed that he was a worker in the hotel- he wore a black uniform with a tag on them. His name, Michael was written on the tag.

You are probably wondering what could happen between two total strangers in an elevator. But dear friend, you would be surprised to discover that a lot can happen. Suddenly, the elevator stuck. The last thing I thought that could happen to me during my amazing vacation. I was in panic; it was the first time that I was stuck in an elevator.

You know me when I am under pressure; I tend to get an asthma- attack. I began pushing every little button that was in the elevator, but nothing helped. Michael, the guy who was with me, tried to calm me down. In addition, he tried to call for help but since we were in the elevator the mobile phone didn’t work. Then he told me with his gentle voice that everything was all right, and told me to take deep breaths. It really helped, the asthma- attack stopped. It was amazing, I looked into his eyes and I saw his kindness. At that moment I felt that I loved him. All of a sudden the elevator opened, and each one went to his own way.

It was very kind of him to help me, since he didn’t know me.
He left a good impression on me. Although we didn’t know each other's names, I felt that a new relationship was born between us.
I hope you enjoyed my letter, and hope the new business goes well.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
your best friend who is in Paris,
.
May Shervi
Good work. This is much better.

Total eclipse of the solar system

A LUNAR ECLIPSE

What is a lunar eclipse? When does it happen?A lunar eclipse is a fascinating and unique astronomic phenomenon. You are about to discover some amazing facts you haven’t known about this phenomenon. This exhibit is a part an exhibition about "Time” and the Solar system.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through some part of the Earth's shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely, with the Earth in the middle. A lunar eclipse can occur only once a month, when there is a full moon, meaning in the middle of the Jewish month. However, the eclipse could occur only twice a year. The lunar eclipse can be a partial lunar eclipse that takes place when only a part of the Moon enters the umbra. Total lunar eclipse also happens when the Moon travels completely into the Earth's umbra.

Total lunar eclipses are rare, compared to the partial lunar eclipse. The next total lunar eclipse will occurs on December 21, 2010. Don’t miss this amazing phenomenon that the natural world has created.

A SOLAR ECLIPSE

Another amazing phenomenon is a solar eclipse. What is this unique view? How is it affecting the animals' life? Animals who are active during day time usually get confused when solar eclipse happens and they think it is night time.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth so that the Sun is completely or partially obscured. This can only happen during a new moon, when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction as seen from the Earth. At least two and up to five solar eclipses occur each year on Earth, with between zero and two of them being total eclipses. A Total eclipse occurs when the moon covers completely the sun. A Total solar eclipse lasts at the most about 6 to 8 minutes, but visible at half of Earth.

If you are lucky, you will see one of the above mentioned phenomenons. Viewing the solar eclipses requires special eye protection. Therefore, if you see the sun eclipses make sure you wear Eclipse glasses. Maybe the most important thing is to take a picture of this one-time experience.

The Golan Heights

The Golan Heights is a very special place. There are many plants, mountains, rivers and beautiful waterfalls which create an amazing scenery. During the succot vacation, I went on a trip with the“mashtzim”, a youth movement . It was in the Golan Heights. As I said before, it is a very beautiful place, located in the northern part in our marvelous little country.

We were in the Golan Heights for two days. On the first day we hiked in “Yehudia stream”. When we entered the water it was extremely cold, and I was “freezing”.
The climbing was difficult, because the place contains many rocks. Then all of a sudden, I fell and as a result I began limping. Despite the unpleasant injury, it was a lovely, sunny day.

.
On the second day we visited Gamla. Nowadays Gamla is an archeological ancient city in the Golan Heights. When we were in Gamla we saw a synagogue which used for prayer until the destruction of the Second Temple. There are many eagles, and there for we had to keep silent.Gamla is a place, which I enjoyed visiting.

I recommend with all my heart to visit the fascinating Golan Heights. And
exploit every minute, because we may not enjoy this place in the years to come due to the dispute with the Syrians.

Very good work, May. Please correct your work.

MY BEST FRIEND REUT

The person I want to write about is my cousin Reut. My mother and her mother are sisters. She is three years younger than me. She was born on July 8, 1996. We see each other a lot. She is my best friend, and we always go on trips together.

Reut has three brothers. She is the youngest in her family. She loves to come to my house and since she doesn't have a sister I am like a sister for her. I love her because she is always happy and she has a lot of energy. Reut is much smaller than me. She has big green eyes (the color green). She is beautiful.

Reut is in the 7th grade. She is very smart and she loves to help me with my homework. She knows how to use the computer very well. Reut and I like to go ice skating and go bowling together.

To conclude, Reut is a very friendly person. We both like the same things. I feel she is like my little sister. Neither of us is perfect but we both love each other any way. I am happy she is my couisn.
Very good work. I really liked your essay. It was interesting, clear, well written and to the point. Well done!

DEPICTION OF MYSELF

My name is May and I am fifteen years old. I live in Israel,I have one brother and one sister. Through this essay I am going to tell about my life and myself.
.
I would like to share with you my hobbies which are mainly singing and riding horses. Moreover, I like to skate on ice, watch spanish soap operas, hike with my family and have a good time with my friends. In my spare time, I usually watch television, go to the mall and to parties with my friends. But during holidays, I always go on trips with my family. When I meet with my friends, I generally talk with them about things that happened to me, go to the movies, the mall etc.
.
I like the teachers in school because they always help me with my problems. I also like to go on trips with my classmates and with the "Mashazzim(youth movenment)". But I don't like the homework given at school because sometimes they are hard. In addition, I don't like the violence at school because it may risk innocent people's lives which isn't rightful. I mostly like the spanish lessons. Firstly, the teacher is very nice. Secondly, Eduardo, the teacher, teaches the subject very well and in a special and funny way. For example, he always plays us spanish songs in the class.
.
After I wrote about myself and my opinion about my school, my expectations from this coming year are getting good grades, to be a better person and a better friend. I wish everybody would have a sweet and a good year.
Good work.
