HOMEWORK=SLAVERY?

Ben Berrafato, an eleven-year-old boy, expressed his objection to homework by saying that homework is nothing but slavery. This statement has created many questions and made me wonder whether homework is necessary. I believe that homework is a significant component of children's education, but it must be given in the right moderation.- good opening.

The main goal in home practice is to review the material covered in class. When the student copes with the material by himself, at home, he understands the material much better and developes new studying skills. Moreover, homework helps organize the students' schedule. When homework is given in several subjects, the student spends his time mainly preparing homework and not watching television.

However, an exaggerated amount of homework puts a lot of pressure on the student, whose studying ability may decrease(Explain this). Moreover, Social life is an important part of every one of us, and when the student spends most of his time on homework, it prevents him form hanging out with family and friends.
As we can see, homework can contribute to the students' studying and thinking, but it can also oppress the student when it is given in an exaggerated amount. Therefore, the best solution is to give homework in a moderate manner. Teachers can also give interesting assignments so that the student will be pleased to do them at home. - Very good conclusion!

E.T. In Space

E.T. In Space

Would you like to take part in researgh about space? There are people who go against the new suggestion that space exploration should be included among the top priorities of our country. I wonder whether they are right.

On the one hand, space exploration is a positive thing. Through space exploration, humanity may discover new materials that can contribute to important fields, such as medicine and technology. Moreover, exploring space may lead humanity to the betterment of our life quality. For example, a child lost somewhere can be easily found thanks to the Global Positioning System.

On the other hand, space exploration involves many disadvantages. Space exploration requires an incredible sum of money, when this money can be spent on much more important things, such as education and fighting crime and terrorism. In addition, exploring space may risk the lives of the astronauts sent to space. We have heard of many astronauts who lost their lives tragically for the sake of exploration.

To conclude, I believe space exploration should become a top priority of our country. Our government should invest much of its efforts to promote space exploration despite all the risks involved.

Good essay, May. Still, you will have to reorganize paragraph 1.

BE YOURSELF!

It was at the park. We were ten kids and the hour was midnight. Everyone was smoking cigarettes. They were drunk. Imagine they were only thirteen year old teenagers. It looked like everybody was influenced by each other. I was there. But I didn't drink or smoke until my "friends" pressured me and I couldn't refuse. I wanted to make this decision on my own, but they pressured me. I couldn't make my own decision and be myself.

The situation I described is called PEER PRESSURE. Peer pressure is a common youth problem all teenagers must be immuned against. Peer pressure is when you do something either because your peers have convinced you to or because all your peers are doing it. This situation makes you do some bad or immoral things you don't usually do.

If you think that this situation isn't going to happen to you – you're wrong! You may think it is far from happening to you, but this is a common situation, happening all the time and all over the world. If we all press each other to do something which isn't suitable for us, we will probably take decisions we might regret in the far, or even near, future.

The best way to avoid peer pressure is simply being yourself! Don't be afraid to make your voice heard! If your peers try to convince you to do something you believe is immoral, all you have to do is stand for your opinions and beliefs.
This essay seems more like an advice column than an opinion essay. It's good, but you need to reorganize it and make it into an essay, without the advice in paragraphs 3 and 4. (78)
